SALUTE TO EDUCATION INFORMATION PAGE
FOR COLLEGE ADVISORS
ATTENTION ALL CAP/BRACE/COLLEGE ADVISORS: The Salute to Education College Advisor Page provides college advisors with all of the necessary information needed for the 2011-2012 Salute to Education Scholarship Program to forward to their students! We hope you will utilize this page and help us in promoting our scholarship program to your students. Please read further about changes we may have made to the program.
* SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES STILL CONSIST OF FOUR (4) MAIN CATEGORIES with two sub-categories under Arts and two-sub-categories under Sciences. The distribution of the scholarships under the categories of Arts and Sciences will depend on how many finalists are within the sub-categories. For example, if there are more finalists under the subcategory of Performing and Visual Arts then more of the scholarships will be provided to those students under the Arts category. This is the only way for Salute to Education to distribute the scholarship dollars as evenly as possible. Please note once again that Social Science and Vocational/Technical are no longer categories.
Following is a list of the scholarship categories for the 2011-2012 Salute to Education Scholarship Program:
- ATHLETICS
- ARTS (With subcategories for students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of Foreign Language/Language Arts or the area of Performing and Visual Arts)
- LEADERSHIP/SERVICE
- SCIENCES (With subcategories for students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of Math/Computer Science or the area of Natural Science)
STUDENTS NO LONGER HAVE TO FILL OUT AND SEND IN AN INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION VERIFICATION FORM ONCE THEIR APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED ONLINE!
Applicants no longer have to fill out and sign an individual application verification form after they submit their application online. Once the SEMI-FINALISTS are chosen, one combined application verification form listing all of the SEMI-FINALISTS per school will be sent to the college advisor at that school. Each student listed on the form needs to sign off next to his/her name acknowledging that their information is correct and they understand how the scholarship funds can be spent. Then the college advisor will sign off on the combined application verification form confirming that the student is who he/she says he/she is and the information is correct.
