Am I eligible for a STE scholarship?

How do I apply for a STE scholarship?
1) Review the Criteria & Eligibility section of the website to be sure that you meet the requirements.
2) Review the categories and choose the one in which you are most qualified to apply under
3) Choose a login and password and begin the online application process.
 
May I apply in more than one category?
NO!  Any student who submits an application in more than one category will be automatically disqualified.  The student will no longer be considered for a scholarship.
 
How much is each scholarship and is it renewable?
Each STE scholarship is in the amount of $1,500 and is to be used ONLY FOR TUITION AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL RELATED FEES at the college/university he/she will be attending.  An STE scholarship is a one time scholarship and IS NOT renewable after the original scholarship check is distributed to the winner. There will be 50 winners from Miami-Dade County and 50 winners from Broward County.
 
Is the scholarship check made out directly to the scholarship recipient?
No.  The scholarship check is made out ONLY to the name of the college/university the student will attend.  The student needs to deposit the check into his/her account at the college/university’s student financial services/financial aid office.
 
What is the deadline date to submit an application?
January 28, 2013 at midnight
 
What is the Application Confirmation Form?
Once you press the SUBMIT button and send your application to Salute to Education electronically via the website, a confirmation form will appear on the screen.  Please print this confirmation form out.  The confirmation page will serve as proof that your application was received in our database. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SALUTE TO EDUCATION OFFICES TO CHECK IF WE HAVE RECEIVED YOUR APPLICATION.  WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT SINCE WE RECEIVE OVER A THOUSAND APPLICATIONS DURING THE COURSE OF THE APPLICATION PERIOD. 

How will I find out if I am a 2012-2013 STE scholarship recipient?
You may visit our website (www.stescholarships.org); click on “Scholarships”; choose either “2012-2013 Miami-Dade County Recipients” or “2012-2013 Broward County Recipients.” Winners will also receive a letter in the mail as well. The winners will be announced in mid to late April 2013.

Does STE offer scholarships for students who do not attend a Miami-Dade or Broward county high school?
No.  STE does not grant scholarships to any student who is not presently a high school senior in a Miami-Dade or Broward county high school.  This also includes Masters & Doctoral students enrolled in a university.
